What a hectic ride…

Tonight’s ride was cursed…

Just as I was starting my ride a golf ball from a nearby golf course crossed the boulevard and nearly hit me…

No more than 2 or 3 minutes after this I reached the cycling lane…

As it is all too common here, people were walking in it…

To make matters worse,  there was bicycles coming from the other direction…

I had to change lanes and hurry to avoid the bicycles coming from the other direction…

Usually when there are people in the cycling lane I say

Thank <deity> it is a cycling lane…

but I usually say it in a low voice so it is most likely inaudible…

This time,  I made sure that I was audible…

I did it safely,  there was no way that I could have hurt them but it sure startled one of those people…

I think they got the point though as I checked from afar and I believe that they were now walking on the sidewalk…

Things were OK for a while until I reached another group of people running in the cycling lane…

They didn’t seem to want to either go on the sidewalk or at least take only part of the cycling lane to let me pass so I had to go in the street.

The rest of the ride was,  for a while,  uneventful until I saw an idiot on his bicycle on the sidewalk when there was a very nice cycling lane there. ..

This time I thought

Thank <deity> there is a cycling lane…

(Notice the subtle difference with earlier… 😉 )

I was like 15 minutes from home when I saw this and I thought I could not see much worse than what I had seen…

I was wrong….

I was less than 5 minutes from home when I saw another idiot that was riding on a lawn when there was a very nice cycling lane only a few meters/feet from where he was riding…

That reminded me of the time I saw another idiot with a Ford F150 (if not an even bigger model like a F350) in a hurry to get to a McDonald’s so he rode on their lawn…

(lots of expletives deleted… )

You know they say some people behave weirdly on a full moon? This was just two day after one…

Spooky….
