Keep you tires properly inflated…

… that’s what I should have done…

A few days ago, on a rare non rainy day, I wanted to take my bike for my daily ride and had the bad surprise to see that my bike’s rear tire was flat.

I initially wanted to replace it myself but I changed my mind when I noticed that the tire itself was, to my untrained eye, in a way more bad shape than it should be given it is about a year old and that, while I do try to ride my bike as much as possible, there are people who do a lot more miles/kilometers than I do with a set of tires.

The LBS agreed, the tire was finished…

The only thing they could suggest is that I probably rode my bike with tires which were not inflated enough and, given my weight (I am overweight, I should actually say obese) I should definitely not ride my bike with under-inflated tires…

They replaced the tire and the inner tube and now, if it was not for the rain, I could ride my bike…

I have ordered myself a nice Topeak Joe Blow Sport II Floor Pump from Amazon so that this doesn’t happen again.

I must confess that the fact that I did not (and still don’t, I have not receive the pump yet, I assume I will receive it next week since I ordered it yesterday) have a good pump I was most likely not keeping my tires properly inflated…

So, if you don’t want to have bad surprises, keep you tires properly inflated…

Keep on cycling…
